"Why don't I write my own book," I thought, "like Enid Blyton?"
So I did, and I've been writing ever since!
I write fantasy with elements of romance in there, and this year I entered the GothNoWriMo writing challenge and have discovered that I quite enjoy writing paranormal romance, too.
In the menu you'll find links to:-
- my writing blog
- a page of writing resources that I've personally found very helpful
- a page on some Celtic research resources
- a page on what I've learned about writing
- another on what I'm reading at the moment
- and one on how my works in progress are coming along.
Where words fail, music speaks...
I've put together another page called Words & Music. Music is a great way to create a mood and is the third love of my life (my hubby and my writing being the other two). Depending on the type of scene I want to write, I'll choose songs or pieces of music that evoke the mood I'm aiming for. (There's all sorts in there - oldies and modern alike.)
Music, I've also found, is one very effective way of keeping the internal editor occupied. While it's humming away and tapping its toes, I'm free to write without criticism!
I'm to be found online mostly at Forward Motion and Romance Divas, and also at GothNoWriMo and NaNoWriMo in October and November (Shamrock's NaNo blogs my progress). However, I have to make a choice between surfing the net, blogging and writing, and if I hope to have my books published some day, then writing has to come first!!
I hope you enjoy browsing the pages. I'd love to hear from you, so feel free to leave me a message or to email me. All the best.
