Works in Progress
I've wanted to be a writer since I was 5 years old, sick in bed, bored, with nothing to read.
"Why don't I write my own book," I thought, "like Enid Blyton?"
So I did, and I've been writing ever since. (The story, incidentally, was about a kitten who wandered away from home having lots of adventures and meeting a variety of characters along the way. Then he had to try and find his way home again to his mother. My Junior Infants teacher, when I told her about it, sent me up to the Principal's classroom and I was asked to read it for the class. I was thrilled and there was plenty of laughter all round. Great memory.)
I write fantasy (with elements of romance), and, since first entering the GothNoWriMo writing challenge in 2008, I've discovered that I quite enjoy writing teeth-chattering romance, too. :)
In the menu, you'll find links to:-
- my writing blog
- a page of writing resources that I personally find useful
- a page on some Celtic research resources (in addition to those in the e-book "The 33 Worst Mistakes Writers Make about the Celts")
- another on what I'm reading at the moment
I'm to be found online mostly at How to Think Sideways and Forward Motion, and also at GothNoWriMo and NaNoWriMo in October and November (Shamrock's NaNo blogs my progress). However, I have to make a choice between surfing the net, blogging and writing, and writing (nearly) always comes first.
I hope you enjoy browsing the pages. I'd love to hear from you, so feel free to leave me a message or to email me.
All the best.
